'Ibu, kesian Abah...' that is statement from Aish. He started having fever on Monday but he went to the clinic on Wednesday. On Thursday, he's fever getting worst. We thought that he was having dengue fever. My MIL cooked him crab soup.

On Friday, I decided to bring Abah to DEMC to checked his blood. I still remember the MO's face when he checked his throat. His throat must be so bad with that MO's face. The MO told us that he has to admit to the hospital. Since DEMC wasn't included in his insurance panel's hospital PruBSN Takaful, we decided to go to KPJ Selangor Specialist at Section 20, Shah Alam. His fever was not because of dengue but because of his tonsil. He was under supervision of ENT Surgeon.

Today is the 3rd days Abah admitted to hospital and his fever is not getting better. Maybe he should go through operation, well I don't know.

Anyway, Happy Father's Day again...We at home always pray for your health...

The Lights is Everywhere

At first, we saw the lights from the Federal Highway. Well I started to shop online recently when I was pregnant in third trimester. It was hard for me to go the shop especially when you don't really know where to buy particular things that you are looking for.

The first thing that I bought online was the breastpump. At first I was so worried about shopping online since that was my first time did it. So I decided to give a try since that I really need to prepare for my new baby because my plan was to exclusively breastfeed my baby.

My first attemped was browse at most online shop which offers the best price. Turned out to be I found this online shop when they were having sales in May 2009.

http://www.enjoybreastfeed.com/

I bought the i-Spectra portable breastpump with a very good price and I am still using it until today. I was so excited then I paid to their account on Monday morning and the parcel arrived at my office on Tuesday afternoon. Wah, the service was so fast.

Spectra i-Spectra Portable Breastpump

Two week after that I was looking for postnatal. My sister recommended Amway Post Natal Care ehich include most everything and I have used them during my confinement and it was wonderful! Since I was already in 8 months that time and don't think I can afford to find it at shop so I decided again to shop online. This time I bought the Post Natal Set at Zette Online Shop which own by a lovely lady name Noorerly Ramli and she offered a very good price from the rest. :)

http://www.zettestore.portalniaga.com/

Amway Post Natal Care Set

My New Delight

Photo Tinks by WiddlyTinks.com

It was 14 of July 2009 at 7:32pm, my new baby was born in Shah Alam. The film's plot centers around a small white dog named Bolt who, having spent his entire life on the set of a television series, thinks that he has super powers. When he believes that his human, Penny, has been kidnapped, he sets out on a cross-country journey to "rescue" her.

On the way to rescue Penny, Bolt met Mittens, the cat and Rhino, the hamster (Aish's favorite character because he was so cute!)
Aish watched this movie almost everyday and he remembered most of the lines. By the way the soundtrack, I thought I'd lost you by Miley Cyrus and John Travolta was wonderful...I also enjoy listening to it.

Learning In The Womb

Since that I am pregnant, I want to share some info especially to all pregnant moms. I know that it is one of the wonderful moments while we are having our pregnancy. We, as a mother definitely we are looking the best way to make sure that we are giving the best to our child....So, maybe the info that I want share will helps all the mommies stimulate the unborn child. How we can stimulate the baby's awakening senses – in appropriate ways and at appropriate times.

The Experts section covers fetal stimulation programs designed by leading authorities in the field of prenatal education. But you can also create your own program very easily. Here's what you need to know:

Taste/smell stimulation
Your baby can taste the amniotic fluid that surrounds her. So Mom, why not take this opportunity to give your little one as many taste and smell sensations as possible? Not only are these a form of stimulation, but experts believe that babies who experience a variety of taste-smells in the womb are likely to be more accepting of a variety of foods after birth.

Touch stimulation
As soon as you can feel the baby through Mom's belly, you will find it only natural to engage in touch stimulation. If your baby pushes his foot, hand or bottom out of Mom's belly, then by all means push gently back. You can also try lightly massaging your baby. It's fun to see how your baby reacts to these activities, and especially how her reactions change over the course of the pregnancy.

Light stimulation
Opinion is divided over whether it's a good idea to shine a flashlight on a pregnant belly. While some believe it's harmless fun, medical professionals caution that bright lights can damage a young baby's eyes. Besides that, it's possible that using a flashlight will disturb your baby's sleep. To be on the safe side, only use a flashlight during the last month of pregnancy, and when your baby is awake and active. Many parents enjoy this activity because it provokes such a strong reaction in their baby! One mom used the light to keep her baby awake for a longer period in the evening. This in turn helped both baby and mom sleep better at night!
Sound stimulation

This is your baby's main source of stimulation in the womb, and it is your most important form of communication. Your baby does not hear particularly well through his ears, which are filled with amniotic fluid. What he hears most clearly comes through the vibrations of his skull. For this reason, Mom's voice has a unique resonance. As for sounds from outside the womb, low-pitched frequencies travel best through liquids. Listening to classical musical is great if Mom enjoys it, but your baby probably won't be able to hear the string section.

Because Mom's voice stands out, it is uniquely soothing to the baby – both before and after birth. Studies have shown that unborn babies slow their swallowing while listening to their mother's voice. Soon after birth, babies show a distinct preference for their mother's voice and the language she speaks. But there's good news for Dad too – because low frequencies travel well through water, your deeper voice should be audible and recognizable to the baby, if you talk to her on a regular basis.

Read and sing!Just by taking time out of every day to talk, read and sing to your baby, you will enable him to get to know the two of you long before he is born. This in turn will help him to feel more secure during his first days in the strange new environment of the outside world. If certain stories or songs become a part of your pregnancy routine, then this is something you can use to your advantage after the birth. Your unborn baby can recognize patterns of speech and intonation (if not individual words), with vowel sounds coming through particularly clearly.

Studies have shown that newborns are soothed by hearing the same stories and songs they were used to listening to in the womb.

You will almost certainly want to play music to your baby during pregnancy. Because low frequencies travel better through liquids, bass and percussion instruments, and the low notes on the piano, will be most audible. It doesn't matter what kind of music you choose though, provided it's pleasant to listen to – for the two of you as well as the baby. The way the music makes Mom feel is actually the most important factor.

So enjoy this special time, as the three of you get to know one other before your baby's long-awaited arrival. As your baby grows larger and more visible, you will increasingly enjoy the time you spend interacting as a family. When she is awake and active, she may respond to your voices with a kick or sudden "swimming" movement. You will begin to realize that your baby is listening, really listening, to her parents' voices. And isn't it great to know that when it does come time for your baby to leave the sanctuary of the womb, she will already recognize and be comforted by the voices of the two of you – the two people who love her more than anyone else in the world.

So, good luck to all mommies!

My 4D Scan

I had my 2D & 4D detail scanning detail yesterday at Klinik Umra, Seksyen 13, Shah Alam. He has been asking for a baby since last year because all of his friends has a siblings except him...

I started to realise that I felt dizzy in middle of November which I couldn't even skip a meal. Some of the parents are very strict with their child and they didn't realise that they can really make useful of the play time especially with their child. It is one of the quality time that they should spend with their child. Hopefully, the tips below will help us how to spend the quality moment.

For children, play is naturally enjoyable. And since it is their active engagement in things that interest them, play should be child-led, or at least child-inspired, for it to remain relevant and meaningful to them. Children at play are happily lost in themselves; they are in their own realm of wonder, exploration, and adventure, pulling parents in at times with a frequent “Let’s play, mom!” as an open invitation into that world.

As early as infancy, children immerse themselves in play activities with the purpose of making sense of the world around them. Play gives children the opportunity to learn and experience things themselves, which is vital for their development. Although peek-a-boo games seem pointless to adults, tots are awed by the surprise that awaits them as they see the suddenly emerging faces of people they love.

(Stages of Play)

During toddlerhood, children experience a motor-growth spurt that equips them to solitarily fiddle with anything they can get their hands on – be it a construction toy or the box from where it came.

Toddlers also love breaking into song, wiggling and jiggling to tunes, and imitating finger plays they are commonly exposed to.

Preschoolers begin extending their play to involve others, whether they bring others in at any stage of their game or they plan their game and its players’ way ahead. Their physical and motor skills allow them to widen their lay arena, from dramatic play to table games to outdoor pursuits.

School-age children start appreciating organized play – such as innovated songs and rhymes, games with rules, relays and other physical activities, sports and projects that they can accomplish over a certain time frame.

Play Perks:

Why the big fuss about playing? Play benefits the child in ways that might be a tad difficult for adults to imagine.

1. Play brings pure and utter joy.

A toddler who jumps into an empty box and runs around the house ‘driving a car’ shows the sheer happiness that play brings him or her. When children are asked what they did in school and they answer ‘play,’ it is a clear sign that these kids remember a feeling of genuine joy that is captured in this four-letter word.

2. Play fosters socio-emotional learning.

What does a ten-month-old baby who shrieks at the sight of her stuffed toy have in common with a ten-year-old boy who plays basketball with his friends? They both deal with their confidence as they choose to embark on their play activities. At the same time, they are displaying their independence in the decisions that they make. These two children are also internalizing social rules in their respective play situations: the baby waits patiently for her stuffed toy to appear, while the school-age child has to contend with an impending loss in a ball game.

3. Play hones physical and motor development.

Play often involves the use of the senses, the body, and the extremities. When children play, they exercise their bodies for physical strength, fluidity of movement, balance and coordination.

Perceptual-motor ability, or the capacity to coordinate what you perceive with how you move, is an essential skill that preschoolers need to develop. A three-year-old who is engrossed in digging, scooping, and pouring sand into a container must match his or her perception of the space in front of him or her with actual hand movements, so that he or she can successfully fulfill the motor activity.

4. Play facilitates cognitive learning.

Play is vital to the intellectual development of a child. We live in a symbolic world in which people need to decode words, actions, and numbers.

For young children, symbols do not naturally mean anything because they are just arbitrary representations of actual objects. The role of play is for the child to understand better cognitive concepts in ways that are enjoyable, real, concrete, and meaningful to them. For instance, through play, a child is able to comprehend that the equation 3 + 2 = 5 means ‘putting together’ his toy cars by lining them up in his makeshift parking lot. When he combines 2 triangles to make a square during block play, or writes down his score is a bowling game, the child is displaying what he knows about shapes and numbers.

Through play, the child is constructing his or her worldview by constantly working and reworking his understanding of concepts.

5. Play enhances language development.

Toddlers who are still grappling with words need to be immersed in oral language so they can imitate what they hear. They benefit from songs and rhymes that provide the basis for understanding how language works.

When these tots are playing with toys, adults model to them how language is used to label objects or describe an event. At play, preschoolers use language to interact, communicate ideas, and likewise learn from dialogues with more mature members of society.

6. Play encourages creativity.

Barney the dinosaur was right about using imagination to make things happen. A lump of Play-Doh suddenly turns into spaghetti with meat sauce and cheese; a small towel transforms into a cape that completes a superhero’s wardrobe; and a tin can serves as a drum that accompanies an aspiring rock artist. Play opens an entire avenue for children to express themselves, show what they know and how they feel, and to create their own masterpieces.

7. Play provides bonding opportunities.

Play is an important factor in child development. It provides for interaction, experimentation, and moral development. Here are some ways by which parents can encourage and support their children’s playtime.

- Let your child be the player-leader. Let children initiate their activity, set their own theme, choose the parameters where the play will take place. Play becomes a venue for children to express their feelings and be in control.

- Help them help themselves. When your 5-year-old asks for help, say, figuring out how to piece a puzzle together, stop yourself from coming to her rescue and first ask your child questions that allow him or her to help himself or herself. Say, “Where do you think this piece should go?” Afterward, commend his or her success.

- Play attention. Once you make a commitment to play with your child, watch for the following signals: Does he or she want you to actively play a part in the activity? Does he or she need encouragement? Is he or she tired or hungry? Does he or she need to take a break?

- Have a play plan. If you seem to have little time for playing with your child, consider using self-care chores to have fun with him or her. Also, get support from other people in your household, like older siblings, household help, or the child’s grandparents, so that they understand why play is important and how they should continue to encourage it.

Mmmm....it is not that difficult, huh?

Birthday Party

My friend, Fiza threw a party for her son, Faris and daughters, Zaireen & Zaira on last Saturday. Do you still remember the movies Just My Luck? Starring Lindsay Lohan. I love the movie. I believe that we can change our luck if we want it.
Well, I found an article which I would to share with all of you about LUCK.
It is a study that done by Professor Richard Wiseman, University of Hertfordshire.

Why do some people get all the luck while others never get the breaks they deserve?

A psychologist says he has discovered the answer.

Ten years ago, I set out to examine luck. I wanted to know why some people are always in the right place at the right time, while others consistently experience ill fortune. I placed advertisements in national newspapers asking for people who felt consistently lucky or unlucky to contact me.

Hundreds of extraordinary men and women volunteered for my research and over the years, I have interviewed them, monitored their lives and had them take part in experiments.

The results reveal that although these people have almost no insight into the causes of their luck, their thoughts and behaviour are responsible for much of their good and bad fortune. Take the case of seemingly chance opportunities. Lucky people consistently encounter such opportunities, whereas unlucky people do not.

I carried out a simple experiment to discover whether this was due to differences in their ability to spot such opportunities. I gave both lucky and unlucky people a newspaper, and asked them to look through it and tell me how many photographs were inside. I had secretly placed a large message
halfway through the newspaper saying: "Tell the experimenter you have seen this and win $50."

This message took up half of the page and was written in type that was more than two inches high. It was staring everyone straight in the face, but the unlucky people tended to miss it and the lucky people tended to spot it.

Unlucky people are generally more tense than lucky people, and this anxiety disrupts their ability to notice the unexpected.

As a result, they miss opportunities because they are too focused on looking for something else. They go to parties' intent on finding their perfect partner and so miss opportunities to make good friends. They look through newspapers determined to find certain types of job advertisements and miss other types of jobs.

Lucky people are more relaxed and open, and therefore see what is there rather than just what they are looking for. My research eventually revealed that lucky people generate good fortune via four principles. They are skilled at creating and noticing chance opportunities, make lucky decisions
by listening to their intuition, create self-fulfilling prophesies via
positive expectations, and adopt a resilient attitude that transforms bad luck into good.

Towards the end of the work, I wondered whether these principles could be used to create good luck. I asked a group of volunteers to spend a month carrying out exercises designed to help them think and behave like a lucky
person.

Dramatic results! These exercises helped them spot chance opportunities, listen to their intuition, expect to be lucky, and be more resilient to bad luck. One month later, the volunteers returned and described what had happened. The results were dramatic: 80% of people were now happier, more
satisfied with their lives and, perhaps most important of all, luckier.

The lucky people had become even luckier and the unlucky had become lucky.

Finally, I had found the elusive "luck factor".

Here are Professor Wiseman's four top tips for becoming lucky:

1) Listen to your gut instincts - they are normally right

2) Be open to new experiences and breaking your normal routine

3) Spend a few moments each day remembering things that went well

4) Visualize yourself being lucky before an important meeting or telephone call.

Have a Lucky day and work for it.

The happiest people in the world are not those who have no problems, but those who learn to live with things that are less than perfect.

A bicycle as a reward

I am having a hard to time to potty train Aish. There's a lot of method and tips that I have tried until he reached age of 4. Actually, Aish doesn't have any problem to pee at the toilet but he was having a problem to poop. So, my goal was to make him to poop at the toilet before he reach 4 years old.
I found out from his teacher that he didn't poop at school and he only poop whenever he reached home. So, I became desperate. I even promised him to buy a bicycle but he didn't give any cooperation. So, what I did was after I took him from school, I didn't brought him straight home. We went to other places and when he desperate, he didn't have any choice but to go to the toilet. I successfully did it four times and after one week he automatically wants to poop at the toilet.
So today I bought the bicycle for Aish as a reward to him.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_8sAMEQgwxns/SHWktoJQI5I/AAAAAAAAALc/-W6W9iQ861g/s400/06072008595.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5221260446783251346" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_8sAMEQgwxns/SHWk0XfvLXI/AAAAAAAAALk/9UQMcEuMDAU/s400/06072008596.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5221260562573241714" />
Aish with his new red bicycle

Aish 4th Birthday

24th June 2008...It was Aish's Fourth Birthday. This time I just order cupcakes from my old best friend, Fiza (you can check out at her site http://chiquecakes.blogspot.com/)and celebrate at Aish's taska. Aish's classmates was so excited when they saw the cupcakes. They ate them after they had their lunch as the dessert.
After that, Aish and I went outing and it was just the two of us. We went to Sunway Pyramid. We played two frame of bowling at Mega Lane. Aish was so excited because he can hold the bowl ball on his own and the ball that he threw hit the pin. Then we watched Kung Fu Panda. Aren't we all... to have a decent break from the daily routine and grind (not to mention work pressure!) is just heavenly, be it temporary. Weekends are never long enough, are they? Hopefully, the laptop doesn't have to come along….

Before you take off to your dream holiday, have you planned ahead? Sure, you plan to do some sightseeing, relaxing, sport, dining and shopping. But more importantly, it is advisable to plan your spending. Before you overindulge on your holiday, remember, you will have to come back to reality and pay off the "goodies'' bill.

Here are some tips to be SMART about holiday spending:

1. Have a holiday budget

A holiday budget should already be part of your annual budget. This is advisable so that you don't spend two months' salary on just your holiday and starve the rest of the year. Your best guide is reviewing your last holiday expenses. If you've lost the records, do the next best thing – estimate. List out items you're most likely to spend on during the holiday - travel, accommodation, food, sightseeing, and of course, shopping.

2. Plan your shopping

Whether you realize this or not, when you're traveling out of town or overseas, everything you see on retail is a "must have" … with justifications such as "you won't find this back home" (really?!) or "it's definitely a lot cheaper here than back home". Controlling your whim during these worryless times takes a lot of willpower. What helps is having a list of things you intend to buy so that you don't go overboard. If you already know what you're looking for you can do some research, compare prices and get your items at the best bargains. Without any planning, you may end up buying an additional suitcase just to fit those new purchases. And oops… end up paying for excess baggage as well!

3. Spend your credit card wisely

It's so convenient to just swipe away and worry about the bill later. Beware! Your credit card is usually the source of major debt problems. To use it wisely, have a self check mechanism – record every purchase via the card and have a running tally so that you don't go over your planned limit. When you return and are refreshed from Happyland, don't procrastinate to pay off your debt. If you can't settle the debt early, you could strategize to have them all paid off within, say, 3 months. Otherwise, if you can't seem to control your swiping, resort to spending in good-old cash.

4. Teach your children the value of money

This is probably a tough one for most parents, but you must agree that a substantial proportion of cash outflow is usually to please your children's unwavering demands, and of course, you do want to keep them happy especially while you're all on holiday. Hence, if your children understand why you can only spend X amount on toys, you'll ease any disappointment they may have later.

5. Plan your gifts

It would be very generous of you, indeed, to bring back souvenirs for friends and family. However, make sure you're not buying under pressure. Set realistic expectations. There is no need to prove your success to anyone – all you're really doing is having a well-deserved break – you didn't strike gold, you know! You could make a list of gift recipients e.g. loved ones, close friends; jot down gift ideas and the estimated amount you sincerely wish to spend for each of them. Knowing what and how much would make you be less prone to impulse shopping and you can select early at the best prices.

6. Plan holidays ahead

A post mortem of your spending on return from your vacation is critical. Where did you overspend and why? So you had overspent on the gifts, perhaps your budget for gifts need to be increased next time, or perhaps you just need to spend less on gifts - your office colleagues would probably be just as happy to share some duty free chocolates instead of individual souvenir t-shirts; after all, it’s the thought that counts!

With early research, you can be sure to catch the best deals for the next holiday season. Procrastinators will lose out on bargain air fair prices and/or room availability during hotel promotions. Once your next holiday is already budgeted for, you can start saving early.

7. Future cash flow

Saving money and minding your spending shouldn't just be a priority around the holidays. It should be an everyday habit, but take care of the fundamentals first – paying off credit card balances or debts and saving for education or your retirement. It is also recommended to have an emergency fund worth 3 to 6 months' living expenses in a cash account, in case of that rainy day.

There you have it, 7 habits for a highly-effective holidaymaker for you to adopt immediately. You can now go on that holiday with peace of mind and ensure that you won't spend money you don't have.

So before you plan the next holiday, here's another self check: are you still paying off last holiday's bills? You have been warned.

A house in Aman Perdana.......

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8sAMEQgwxns/SA6_RKoUCFI/AAAAAAAAAIk/hJdFlBmzWtc/s400/aman.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5192297722036881490" />
At last...Yesterday my husband gave me a call that our application for housing loan has been approved. Alhamdullillah...Actually, we have planned to buy a house a year back but we only managed to buy this year.

Well, it is a single storey semi-D in Aman Perdana, Klang. It is a completed house with a CF. We didn't want to buy an under construction house since there's a lot of uncompleted and delayed housing development.

It is not a big house but just nice for our family (just three of us) and the best part is it has lawn about 3 meter beside and at the back. So, I can implement my skill at my own house. :)

Even Aish fell in love with the house when we visit the showhouse. Definitely he loved the lawn and the space. Aish was so excited because he already set his mind that he want to go to the beach. Since Friday afternoon, he keep asked me went we are going back to Mak Tok's house? He was so excited that he doesn't want to sleep that night. He waited untill we departure

We arrived at my mum's house at 3:00 am. He woke up that he doesn't want to sleep because he wanted to wait untill the sunrise. Even he slept at 4:00am, he woke up at 10:00 am and asked when we are going to the beach.

At noon, we went to Kuantan Plaza to buy his swimming suit. Aish chose the one with three quater sleeve and pants because the suit looks like ultraman suits. He wore the suit once we reached at home.

We went to Teluk Chempedak at 5:30pm. And definitely you can guess after that.... Most of us didn't know that we can develop through music. Here are some tips to all parent with young kids. I can be useful...

Music enchants children. Its magic reaches out to them even inside the womb. During the later parts of infancy, they almost always instinctively sway, bounce, or move their heads to its beat. Toddlers garble out nursery songs they hardly understand long before they can read, write, or talk coherently. And as they grow older, they learn how to make up songs.

As much as they love to listen, children love to create music. Whether it’s singing off-key, banging a rattle against the wall, or pounding on a toy piano, nothing can stop them from trying to imitate the different sounds of music.

Self-expression through music should be encouraged so kids may increase appreciation for it as they grow older. A way to do this is to provide musical instruments such as a tambourine or a toy piano. It’s also a good idea to play nursery songs in the background while a child is playing or drawing.

Musical Effects

Helping kids hold on to and increase their fondness of music will not only result in discovering talents. It will also bring positive effects to their well-being. Here are some key benefits that music can bring to children:

- Music encourages children to be more expressive. They can bang on their little drums when they’re mad or they can stroke the keys of their toy piano cheerfully when they’re happy.

- Music promotes self-esteem. When children realize that they can handle a musical instrument, sing a song aloud, or sway with the beat, they’ll feel proud of themselves and their abilities.

- Music gives knowledge. Constant exposure to music such as folk songs, praise music and nursery rhymes will make it easy for a child to understand values and feelings even before they begin to go to school. Parents should be ready to give answers when their children want song lyrics to be explained.

- Music inspires creativity. Because of what they hear, children may get inspired to explore other forms of art such as drawing or painting to further give life to a song. They may illustrate the complete cast of Old McDonald’s Farm or show how the Big Rock Candy Mountains appear in their minds. Because of the early exposure to a kid’s harp or a toy piano, a child may be motivated to write songs or compose music early on in life.

- Music develops communication skills. Getting better at the toy piano entails the same skills needed to learn how to read. Musical lyrics may help increase a child’s vocabulary. New ideas are learned through a song’s story line and kids can get better at articulating these ideas.

- Music helps children achieve goals. With the intent to master an instrument, a child learns the concept of staying focused to attain an objective. At an early age, they are already equipped with values that can help them become successful grown-ups.

But just like any other recreational means, music should not be imposed on your children. Teaching a child how to play a musical instrument or having him take part in voice lessons should not result in tantrums every time a session starts. Your child should love and enjoy musical activities in order for music to have a positive effect in your child’s life.

Children’s Furniture: Must-haves For Your Kid’s Bedroom!

What do you think about your child bedroom? Even us want our own bedroom to be cosy and lovely. Mmmm....Since that I am going to move to my own house definitely that I have to find some ideas how to decorate my child bedroom. Definitely because that I want Aish to be so cosy in his own room.

The bedroom is a place of sanctuary for most children. It can be a place where they can think freely, explore their creativity, discover hidden talents, read, or listen to music. That’s why, as a parent, it’s important to choose children’s furniture that your child can totally make use of.

Maximizing Space and Imagination

Make use of every bit of space available in the bedroom. Children love to store a lot of stuff, so there should be a place available for all your child’s knick knacks. Setting up a shelf or toy storage while maximizing space will ensure that your child’s bedroom is safe and comfortable.

Imagination is the element that will make your child’s bedroom fun and cheerful. You’ll be amazed at how your child can help if you’re lacking in this area. Let him or her describe the preferred colors, themes, and designs. Once you get the idea, finding the right children’s furniture and other decorations your child prefers should be easy.

More Than Just A Bedroom

Because we’ve established that children do more than just sleep in their rooms, you should consider buying children’s furniture that will fully support your kid’s activities.

Most children enjoy drawing and coloring or playing with dolls or action figures. Set up an activity area where your child can comfortably get into the action. Educational rugs or play mats are ideal for this part of your child’s bedroom.

If your child loves books, then setting up a reading nook is the way to go. This area needs to be inviting and comfortable. Provide a cozy chair or a soft rug and overstuffed pillows. Make sure that the lighting in this area is ideal. Keep a book shelf within your child’s reach.

Provide a shelf or cabinet that will serve as a display area. Your child will be able to show-off artwork and favorite pictures. This could also be a place to where trophies, collectibles, and other memorabilia are placed.

Hassle-free Storage Solutions

Keeping children’s bedroom clutter-free is a challenge every parent must face. It’s just a matter of finding a storage solution that is convenient for you and your child. In order to prevent children from just shoving everything under their beds when asked to clean their rooms, the arrangement below could work wonders:

1. Install a corkboard for photographs and artwork.

2. Provide a cabinet for display items. You can opt to have one built-in or you can pick a good one in children’s furniture stores.

3. Place attractive wicker baskets in corners where your child can dump his or her toys, books, and dirty clothes.

4. A roomy closet is recommended for easy storage of your child’s clothes, shoes, and sports gear.

Useful Tips When Out Furniture Shopping

Don’t immediately purchase an item that catches your or your child’s eye. Children’s furniture should be durable and can withstand a child’s constant flow of activity. So make sure you check the credibility of the manufacturer and the kind of material a particular desk or chair is made of.

Don’t give in right away to whatever your child wants. Consider the space of the bedroom as opposed to the gigantic shelf your kid is pointing at. You also need to determine how often your kid will be using a particular piece. When your decision is a no, make your child understand why.

Before going shopping, check out magazines and the Internet for photographs and decoration schemes. This will provide you a clearer view of what you want to get.

Buy at trusted children’s furniture stores. Do your homework and compare prices in advance to get the best deal. After all, you only want nothing but the best for your child.

Aish and Irfan

Almost every day, after work we will go to Kak Unis's house because Aish want to play with his cousin, Irfan, Kak Yin and Kak Eisya. Can the kids have the benefit of toys? We as the parents should responsible on type of toys that we want to buy to our kids. We should choose the educational toys so our kids having the benefit of it.

Kids are like sponges. They absorb. But the similarity ends there. While sponges absorb, they shrink and disintegrate before long. Kids, on the other hand, soak up day to day experiences and when the right mindsets are instilled, they continually thrive. That’s why it’s important for parents like you to carefully select the toys they play with. Associating fun and play with learning is a fundamental aspect of every child’s growth. And one of the best ways to make this happen is through educational toys.

It All Starts at Home

The home front is crucial to a child’s development. This is where curiosity is first explored. This is where a child learns about colors, shapes, and sounds, what Yes and No mean, and that asking “why” can almost always generate an explanation. The first lessons brought about by childhood generally come from the people around the household. That’s why all activities of your kid should be carefully selected. The right books, appropriate TV programs, and educational toys can supplement and enhance your child’s learning process, making the early stages of learning easier and enjoyable.

Lessons of Playtime

Playing is every child’s first priority. Playtime may only seem to provide pure entertainment, but it is also an integral part of your child’s mental and emotional growth. While it’s good to provide children opportunities for skill formation, such as music or art classes, it’s also ideal to give them ample time to play. Doing so, would provide the following benefits:

- Personality development
- Awareness of their potentials
- Promote independent thinking
- An avenue for creative thinking and problem solving
- Improvement their motor skills
- Enhance their ability to think and communicate
- Value-formation

Guidance is essential to bring out the best in children. But it doesn’t mean that you should totally organize the whole experience for your child. The important thing is to provide supervision and the appropriate tools for play and let your child take it from there.

Toys that Fit

Giving your child high-quality educational toys will liven up and enhance the process of sensory and learning development. The right toys for the right age needs to be considered too. A rattle wouldn’t capture the interest a five-year-old kid. Here’s a quick guide on what educational toys children may enjoy at a certain age:

Infants – The keywords are soft, safe, and colorful. Vividly colored rattles and squeaky toys will stimulate their sense of touch, sight, and hearing.

1 to 2 years – This is a stage where children start learning how to maneuver the things in their hands. They are also beginning to discover that some things are paired together. Toddlers will enjoy building blocks and toys that will allow them to identify and match shapes.

2 to 3 years – Children are beginning to get more creative at this age. They like role playing with other kids or by themselves. Puzzles, Play Cubes, and educational toys that stir their imagination are the best options.

4 to 5 years – Kids are into creative thinking and decision-making by this age. Educational toys that can help enhance these developments include puzzle games and constructions toys.

As children grow older, they become more independent in their choices of what toys to play with. They usually forego free play for games that involve rules and friends. They learn to be competitive. This is the time where parents’ guidance is most crucial. But if you’ve established the foundation by providing your child with educational toys early on, then you may have a child who’s well-developed emotionally and smart to boot.

Child's Creativity

How to develop our child creativity? Most of the parents are relying to the teachers. For me, we as the parent, we are the one who make the big impact to our child. We can develop their creativity through many ways. Belows are some of the tips.

Parents and teachers can and do have an effect on child's creativity. Creativity may be more influenced by environmental rather than genetic factors. In fact,it is promoted through the maintenance of a playful, jovial atmosphere that allows and supports the unconventional but at the same time distinguishes and elaborates on what is appropriate and useful. It develops when examples of different approaches are analyzed. It is more likely to thrive when adults express the idea that any problem can be worked out.

A characteristic noted about creative individuals that is worth mentioning is persistence. Those who display creativity often stick with an idea or problem well beyond at time when others get frustrated and quit. To assist your child to be more persistent, focus on conveying two attitudes. First, reflect the belief that no problem is essentially difficult. With further information or a change in strategy, perspective or persistence, any problem can be solved. Secondly, underline the concept that failure is a term related to situations, not people. Failure indicates a temporary state of affairs and only means that another method or more information and practice are needed.

Creativity is unique and the best way to recognize a child's creativity is to create a craft room.It facilitates a child not only explore it's talent but have fun as well. One has to plan this room in a way that the child loves being there and is stimulated to do some activity, craft and art to develop creativity and keep boredom away.

Child's creativity can be nurtured even as a toddler. It requires a great amount of time, patience and planning to keep toddlers occupied even for some time. The setting of the décor where the little one spends most of it's time should be pleasant. The wall should have stickers or murals of his/her favorite cartoon characters and the ceiling should be covered with glow stars or something of similar sort. This will work out during the story time when the child is put to sleep. The furniture should be placed at a height that can be reached by the child. The toys, craft materials etc can be placed in a place where the child can reach whenever he/she wants. It makes him/her independent and raises hi/her level of confidence as well as keeps him/her busy. Small children love scribbling on the wall. Border the scribbling with a wooden frame .It will look as though the little one's creation is framed.

When the child is slightly older, say around five to seven years of age, one wall of a room could be devoted to the child entirely. It could be left blank for the child to scribble on it, paint ,write poems or draw whatever he/she likes. Let the young one personalize it in any way he/she likes. If the child prefers, paint a story on the wall to fire his/her imagination. At this age, children at present spend their leisure hours playing games on the computer. The time allotted to play these games must be strictly monitored. The child must be encouraged to pick up a book, read it, and even narrate the story. They should be given a topic on which they can draw or create something using their imagination. Encourage letter writing which not only improves communication skills but also helps the child to keep in touch with relatives and friends. Craft items such as painting with wet paints, sticking certain pictures and creating a collage etc can bring out the creative genius in these children while keeping them busy. Board games can be handy when friends and classmates come along. These can be kept within easy reach on open shelves that can be reached by the children. If time permits, this is the right age to introduce the child to an adult game like chess.

To conclude in order to develop a child's creativity, expose him/her to a diversity of cultures, experiences, people, and ways of thinking. Make them aware of the fact that there are different ways to think about a problem. Instill confidence in the child to try new experiences within his/her age level abilities and expectations.

New Pyjama

I just bought Aish new pyjama. But we never been there since we moved to Bukit Bandaraya. I think the last time I was there when I was studying in UTM. Our class had a trip over there for a project case study. That was my second time and my first time when I was in Standard Three.
So, yesterday was my third time that I had a trip to Taman Pertanian Bukit Cerakah. But this time my trip is with Aish. My actual plan is to bring Aish to Zoo Negara but then he insisted that he want to go the nearest zoo first.
I woke Aish up early yesterday at 8.00am. After had a breakfast and watched his favorite cartoons, we arrived at Taman Pertanian at 9.00am. I bought a ticket for myself which only cost me RM3. Abah was not coming with us because he had a futsal tournament for the whole day.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8sAMEQgwxns/R5QzBiMrbMI/AAAAAAAAAEA/Ox3fHtFRbRM/s320/20012008111.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5157803574698929346" />
Aish was fully dressed with his hat and his spec.
Our first destination is the Zoo which is that is the main purpose we were there. I asked him why. He said that he doesn’t like to draw at school.

This was the second time that he gave me this excuse. I wondered was going on. Because he loved to do the activity at home.

So, on my way to the office, I asked him why that he didn’t like to draw at school? Then he told me that his teacher scold him because he didn’t draw properly. The teacher asked him to draw circle but he only scribble at the circle. Then, I realized that it has been quite some time that we have done the activity together. I think since I started to work as a LA again. I always came back late from the office. I feel so bad but I don’t any choice right now… I’ll try my best to spend more time with Aish.

Abah was in France

My hubby, Joe has gone to Toulouse in France for three weeks from 1st December 2007 until 25th December 2007. I think it has been few months that I have written anything to my blog.
I have been busy with lots of thing…and I think the worst part is my blog has been rejected by Pay Per Post. Well, never mind. It’s a challenge for me to start all over again.

A lot of new things happened to me lately. I got a job as a Senior Landscape Architect at one of the developer in Klang and definitely I have to switch my Financial Planner job as a part time job. I love my Financial Planner job very much but then I need some back up for doing this business.

But the most difficult part is I have work like hell. Most likely l have to work 8 days a week. It’s really tough because I used to have a quality time with my son, Aish but then….. Aish always asked me, “Ibu, why do always work long hours?” I was so shocked when he asked me that question. He was only three and half years old but he already understand. I think he miss me so much. It has been more than a month I worked over there, still in adjusting session. But I try really hard to manage my time especially with my family.

Anyway, I have created another blog for sharing with others how to make money online in Malaysia. Most of online business or opportunities are not suitable for Malaysian. What I am going share with you is the opportunity to make money online that suitable for Malaysian and definitely not scam. Parents who contact Kidscape are worried about the best way to protect children, especially when they are out on their own. They are extremely cunning and clever at worming their way into your confidence so that you trust them alone with your children.
* Paedophiles do not necessarily look dirty, weird or creepy or act suspiciously - they often behave like everyone else and look 'normal'.
* Paedophiles come from all classes, professions, racial and religious backgrounds.
* The majority of known paedophiles are male, though some women abuse children.
* 66% of paedophiles are known to the child, 34% are strangers.

What paedophiles say
This information comes from the paedophiles themselves, who told Kidscape how they ensnare children.
* Paedophiles are good at making friends with children. They offer to teach them games, sports or how to play a musical instrument. They take them on outings, give them gifts, bribes, toys & money or treats and trick children into trusting them.
* Paedophiles often target single-parent families where mothers might be especially grateful for help with looking after the children.
* 48% of the paedophiles found their victims through babysitting.
* 30% of the paedophiles had each committed offences against 10 to 450 victims, 70% had between 1 to 10 victims.
* Paedophiles find victims by hanging round places children are likely > to go, such as:
* arcades
* school premises
* shopping centres
* amusement or theme parks
* playgrounds
* parks
* swimming baths
* fairs
* fast food chains

* Be suspicious if someone is more interested in your children than in you, someone who always wants to babysit, take your children on outings someone who wants to get your children alone.

What parents can do
* Check on anyone who is left in charge of your children or wants to spend time alone with them, especially babysitters. Talk (not just write) to other people they have worked for.
* Encourage discussions about personal safety, getting lost, and bullying by playing 'What if?' games with children.
* Practise the Kidscape rule "Yell, Run, Tell" with children so they feel confident about using safety strategies.
* Explain to children the difference between "safe" and "unsafe" secrets. A secret about a surprise birthday party is OK, but no one should ever ask them to keep kisses or touches secret.
* Buy your children a Travelcard and/or Phonecard so that they can always call you or get home.
* Arrange to have a family codeword. Tell your child that if anyone ever tries to collect them for you, the person will always know the codeword. "No Code, No Go".
* When visiting public places (shopping centres, funfairs) always arrange a meeting place with your child in case you get separated ("I will meet you outside Marks & Spencer" or "by the fountain").
* Most paedophiles are not strangers. Tell children that if anyone, even someone they know, touches them in a confusing or frightening way they should tell you.
Tell your children
* To be wary of public toilets and to go in with a friend, if possible. If anyone approaches you, get out fast. (Parents - don't be embarrassed to stand outside the toilet and shout in "Are you all right in there?" - puts paedophiles right off!)
* If someone you don't know speaks to you, pretend you haven't heard and walk quickly away.
* Never take sweets, presents, or lifts from people you don't know.
* Never go up to a car to give directions - keep away so that no one can get hold of you and you can run away.
* If something bad does happen to you, even if you have broken a rule, you should tell me about it and I will help sort things out. (One child was walking in a park when told not to and was molested she was afraid to tell because she had broken the rule about being in the park). Children should make a fuss!
* If someone tries to touch or grab you, shout "NO", get away as fast as you can and then tell an adult. Practise the Kidscape rule: "Yell, Run, Tell".
* Remember, if someone frightens you, it is okay to break rules, shout or make a fuss.
* Always run towards shops or places with people.
* If you think that you are being followed, go into a shop or knock on the door of a house - ask for help.
* Break any rule to keep safe. Even break a window to attract attention, if necessary.
Play safe
* Never play in dark or lonely places, or in empty streets and stairwells.
* Stay with friends or with a group and don't wander off on your own, even if you're playing hide and seek - hide with a friend.
* If you are in a shopping centre, arcade or disco and someone offers you money to do a job or errand, don't do it - it could be a trick.
* Don't walk to and from school on your own - team up with a friend or a group.
* Always tell your parents where you're going and when you'll be back.
Getting lost
* Learn your own address, telephone number and postcode.
* If you get lost, go into a shop or a place with lots of people and ask for help, or find a police officer, a security guard, or a traffic warden to ask. If you can't find a shop assistant or a person in a uniform, ask a man or a woman with children to help you
* Don't go into a house or office, or phonebox with anyone - wait outside while they telephone your parents or the police.
* Don't get into a car or accept a lift from anyone -say you'll wait for your parents or the police to fetch you.

TRAVELLING ALONE
* Travel in a train carriage with other people.
* Carry enough money for your return trip and never spend it on anything else.
* Work out what you would do if you missed your train or bus. How would you get home? Is there someone you could call?
Telephones
* Know how to use a public call box and how to contact your parents or whoever takes care of you.
* Know how to make an emergency 'phone call.
* You don't need money to make a reverse charge call (the person at the other end pays the bill).
* Carry a Phonecard so that you can always call home if you get stuck somewhere.
What if something happens?
* Be aware of changes in your child's behaviour which might indicate that something is not right. See Kidscape's Child Abuse: Signs and Symptoms <http://www.kidscape.org.uk/download/index.asp> leaflet.
* If your child doesn't want to be with someone, find out why. Children may say things like, "I don't want you to go out tonight", when they really mean "I don't want to be left with the babysitter".
* Stay calm and try not to transmit anger, shock or embarrassment to your child.
* Ensure that your child knows you believe her/him.
* Tell children it is NEVER their fault if someone abuses them.
* Praise your child for having told you and for 'getting through the ordeal'. Tell them you love them.
* Seek help for the child and yourself.

The Kidscape research study of paedophiles (sponsored by The Nuffield Foundation) is also available, upon request, from the above address. Kidscape is the first charity in the UK established specifically to teach children about keeping safe before they become victims of abuse or bullying. Kidscape's message is prevention.

Teacher's Day

It has been more than a week that I didn't write anything to my blog. Aish was so excited that he wanted to ride the bus. But then we have to wait for others.

It was amazing to see that all the 3 years old & 4 years old children can listened and followed what their teacher told them. They qued before they ride the bus and even in side the bus they can sit down properly. Only one or two kids that need to be reminded.(I am the only parent that followed the trip)

We arrived at KLCC Park at 10:00am as planned and again the kids had to line up, hold hands and walk to the wading pool. Those kids quickly changed their clothes then jumped into the wading pool. Aish was freely playing and he doesn't even bother that I was there. Usual when we when to any wading pool he always fell insecure. Maybe because everybody around him are his friends and he relly enjoyed himself. After more than an hour on the pool, the kids changed their clothes and played at the playground.

All the kids are exausted and hungry. So, the school headmaster decided us to have our 'brunch' at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa. We reached at Taman Tasik at 12 o'clock. We had 'nasi goreng cina' while watching The Eye of Malaysia. On the way back, most of the kids slept on the bus but not Aish. He still enjoyed the city view especially the cars.

They line up before they ride the bus.

Just arrive at KLLC Park.

Aish is going for a trip already?

Tommorow Aish is going for school trip to KLCC from 8am till 12noon. My son is only 3 years old and he already had a school trip. My first school trip when I was in standard three and I went Bukit Cherakah ( which is right now at the back of house ). I want to let Aish go to this trip so that he can enjoy with his friends. But I had few objections from my family because of the there's a lot of missing kids and afraid maybe he will get accident or whatsoever.... Well, another suggestion is that I also going for this trip...We'll see tommorrow..

Amazing Technology

It's amazing how people making money through internet and blogging. So, I would like take this opportunity to write anything that I love that I can share with a lot of parents especially new mommies like me. At the moment, I am still training my son on potty-trained. So, below are the article wrote by Robin Heine which I think can be useful to me and maybe other parents out there.

DETERMINING TOILET-TRAINING READINESS YOUR AUTISTIC CHILD
Figuring out when your child is ready for toilet training is quite easy. There are several benchmarks that can be used in both autistic children and typical children. The age of toilet training ranges from 2-4 in typical children. In autistic children it can be quite later, due to sensory integration issues. However, in my experience, often the child is physically ready, but the parent is not. As parents, we must not be afraid to explore both our child's physical and emotional readiness, but we almost peer into our own physical and emotional barriers as well. While the methods might be time-consuming, you must commit yourself to doing what needs to be done on a consistent basis, always willing to expand, and be flexible during this time. Keep in mind that the process may be time consuming and quite possibly arduous, but the rewards of having a self-reliant child are worth any obstacles you may have to overcome.
The markers for determine if your child is ready for toilet training are the same as for typical children, if your child displays the majority of the following:

1. Holds urine for an hour or more

2. Goes to a special spot to urinate/defecate

3. Gets a special look over their face before voiding in diaper

4. Indicates verbally or nonverbally that his diaper is soiled

5. Can be taught to inmate self-care routine pulling up and down pants, etc.

Let's break down each of these markers further.
Holds urine for an hour or more. The classic test for this is dry diaper-For example, if you put your child in a diaper at 7:00 am, and then check again at 8:00 am, and the diaper is dry-and then when you check the diaper again at 8:30 am, it is super wet-then your child has bladder control. Goes to a special spot to void/defecate. Frequently, in my consulting business, I use charts to have parents keep track of bowel movements/voiding times before actually beginning toilet-training sessions.. These charts are more observational in nature, as it helps to see what latent and undeveloped but critical potty-skills a child has. In my chart, I have a spot for-"went to special area of the house". Frequently when these filled charts come out, a pattern emerges such the child will go hide behind the couch in the family room, or goes into his room and stays there. If your child does go to a special spot, you know that he is sensing his body, and is at least aware of what is going on sensorial.

Verbal/Nonverbal cues voiding is occurring In my chart handout, I have an area for parents to write observations about their child's body/facial movements just prior before elimination takes place. For example, one little girl I worked with didn't go to a special or private area of the house to void in her diaper, but she did squat down and make grunting noises/sighs when she eliminated in her diaper. Again, it's about your child's ability to sense the feeling to eliminate.
Verbal/Nonverbal cues of soiled diapers Autistic children can be quite subtle in communicating with parents. However, some children will indicate by tugging on extremely wet diapers, dancing around, flapping hands when soiled. I have seen autistic children walk over to their changing pad, or lie down next to their changing table when soiled. Again, I find a chart that a parent/caregiver filled out for at least three weeks to be extremely helpful in catching these subtle clues.

Can be taught or shows willingness/participate in self-care skills, such as pulling on and off pants, washing hands, etc. Many autistic children have poor gross and fine motor skills, however, very few cannot be taught to dress themselves. In my work, I have found that this depends on the parents' willingness to teach their children' self-reliance skills. I suggest that if you have doubts about your child's abilities to do basic dressing/undressing skills, you consult your qualified medical professional such as your child's pediatrician, physical therapist or occupational therapist.

In addition to your child's readiness to be potty-trained, you have to ask yourself if you are ready to have your child be potty-trained. On the surface, it seems like a no-brainer, however, in many cases, it is the parents, and not the children, who weren't willing to be committed to the process for various reasons.

Some of these reasons include:

1. A lack of commitment of time/resources

2. Frustration with the one process/method leading parent to quit the process too soon

3. Unwillingness to tailor-make a method work for the parent/child, or lack of flexibility in being willing to embrace unorthodox methods-potty schedules, alarm wristwatches, portable potty kit for community outings.

4. An unmet emotional need such a keeping child dependent on parent/caregiver gives validation and meaning to parent

5. A need for attention or being thought of as a martyr/victim by other family members/friends/community

6. Fear of child's temper tantrums

I am not being harsh on parents, however, after potty-training several autistic children, it was never the children who weren't ready to be potty-trained, it was the parents subconsciously held their children back from being potty-trained. Just as it is critical that your child be ready for potty training, it is just as important and crucial that you as a parent commit to your child's development.

Potty-training your autistic child is doable. The first step is to make sure you as the parent and the child are physically and emotionally ready for what can be a challenging process, but a process that can be rewarding and open new doors to both your child, you and your family.

Magic English

Hi.
